Kap questionnaire on nutrition11/23/2023 ![]() Finally, to assess the effectiveness of intervention programs, knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) surveys can be valuable since it is vital for public health to help develop targeted educational programs. Therefore, it is evident that a vital prerequisite for changing health behaviors and lifestyles is increasing the knowledge on CVD and its modifiable risk factors. It gradually results in overt behavior change. ![]() Īlthough CVDs are multi-factorial events and several individual and socio-environmental factors influence their occurrence, it has been indicated that knowledge level in a health aspect led to changes in attitude. Considering that most CVD risk factors are preventable or controllable such as unhealthy diet, lack of physical activity, smoking, obesity, hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia, and these diseases can be prevented mainly by developing more specific population-based prevention programs. In Iran, according to GBD 2015, CVDs are the first cause of death, and DALYs, responsible for 46% of all deaths. Results provided evidence of the validity of the CVD-KAP29 for KAP studies for cardiovascular diseases in the general population.Ĭardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the leading causes of death and disability worldwide, responsible for an estimated 17♹ million deaths each year of these, more than 75% occur in low- and middle-income countries. The Cronbach’s alpha and McDonald’s ω coefficients were higher than 0.60 for all domains except the nutrition and smoking subscales. Exploratory factor analysis suggested a four-factor subscale with 29 finalized items (CVD-KAP29), and acceptable goodness of fit indices was demonstrated by confirmatory factor analysis. ![]() Based on the results of the content validity, a questionnaire with 30 essential items was designed. In all, 300 adults with a mean age (SD) of 39.79 (12.1) years participated in this study. An initial 62-item questionnaire was developed, and the face, content, and construct validities were assessed. This cross-sectional study was conducted on an Iranian population older than 20 years referred to some of Tehran’s healthcare centers. The purpose of this study was to develop and examine the validity and reliability of a questionnaire on knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) regarding cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), their risk factors, and symptoms among an Iranian general population. Conclusion The urban office workers in Shanghai have good nutrition attitude and practice but inadequate nutrition knowledge.Gender, age, education, and income affect significantly on nutrition knowledge and practice, but not on nutrition attitude.Studies on knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) can be valuable for public health to help to develop targeted educational programs and assess the effectiveness of intervention programs. ![]() Results Among the 740 office workers,48.2%(357) had a medium or poor score on nutrition knowledge 93.1%(689) had a good or excellent score on nutrition attitude. The women had a higher average score than the men for KAP( P < 0.05).The workers aged from 30 to 49 years had a higher average score than workers aged from 20 to 29 years for knowledge and practice( P < 0.05).The workers with master degree or with an average disposable monthly income of more than 5 000 RMB yuan had the highest score than other workers for nutrition knowledge and practice. Methods A questionnaire was designed and its reliability and validity were tested.Office workers randomly sampled from four commercial districts in Shanghai were invited to finish the questionnaire.
