Memories of murder 4k11/28/2023 ![]() en prefix (Eg for "Memories of Murder (2003)(HEVC)(DTS-HD MA 5.1).mkv" make the subtitle file "Memories of Murder (2003)(HEVC)(DTS-HD MA 5.1).en.mkv") and select it when you play it. You can make an MKV and include it in the MKV (using say MKVToolnix), or just have it in the same directory with the same name with a. Well just download the ones I posted as timed to the discs. Then remux the new subtitle file into the ripped feature using MakeMKV or TSMuxer Then adjust the timings of the ripped subtitles in SubtitleEdit by that amount and save the subtitle file Then find the difference and hopefully the difference is the same for the start, middle, and end lines Then I would compare the timestamps of the 2 tracks for the same line of subtitles (once at the start, once in the middle, and once at the end) Then I open the 2 subtitle files (the downloaded one and the ripped one) in SubtitleEdit and adjust the frame rate of the downloaded track if needed Then I open the ripped file in MediaInfo to check the frame rate Then I download the subtitle track from OpenSubtitles (I am not a VIP) I'm not Mobe, but I can tell you what I doįirst rip the disc with MakeMKV (I normally just rip the feature, unless it has dolby vision, where I will do a full disc backup instead) Also, a big thank you for already correcting Memories of Murder and JSA! That would be very helpful for a beginner. I'd be really happy if you could share your workflow. I assume there is a proper way to do it without having to trial-and-error (in other words downloading the file so often until it finally matches). I registered as a VIP which allows me to adjust the frame rate and a delay. ![]() The only thing I don't yet know is how to properly time the subtitles from. I already have a MakeMKV compatible 4K disc drive as well as a NAS set-up ready to go, plus the Infuse app for Apple TV as a player since my Panasonic UB820 doesn't support external subtitles. Memories of Murder and JSA are both favorites of mine too and passing on that opportunity just to wait for eventual Criterion or Arrow upgrades down the line feels not right. I noticed your comment about subtitles for international releases right after you posted it and debated for a while whether I want to do it. Memories is a darn 24p title too, not 23.976 which is a nuisance. Here are all the ones I've done for English unfriendly discs, blu-ray and UHDs. I've done a lot and will post here to my share once I get the subs timed for this disc. Yeah if you are a fan of international cinema, Asian or other, you really need to figure how to support external subtitles or remuxing.
